Axemen & Players Edge - Parent, Player & Coaching Code of Conduct
The essential elements of character-building and ethics in sports are embodied in the concept of sportsmanship and six core principles: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Good Sportsmanship. The highest potential of sports is achieved when competition reflects the character as noted below:
Please note - it is at the Coaches discretion to have a tryout each season. The NJ Axemen Organization & Players Edge have three seasons: a spring, summer and fall season. A player may not be asked to return for the next season depending on attitude, player ability, missing practice, missing games and/or tournaments or has been disruptive or family member disruptive to the team environment or for any reason listed in the Parent Code of Conduct or Player Code of Conduct.
NO REFUNDS OF ANY SORT - PLEASE READ - Any player that chooses to leave on his own or a parent removes the player for any reason or is asked to be removed from the team by a Coach or from a designated Board Member from the NJ Axemen Organization / Players Edge for not adhering to the Player Code of Conduct or is asked to leave due to the Parent(s) not adhering to the Parent Code of Conduct shall forfeit any and all amounts from fundraising activity, sponsorship(s), player account and any dues paid. Such player shall not be entitled to a refund at any time which includes the purchase of any equipment, uniform or anything of the like. In the event the Parent has any balances due to the NJ Axemen or Players Edge, the organization will seek legal assistance to collect any amounts due and the Parent shall be responsible for all court costs, collection fees, attorney fees and an 8% interest penalty from the date the payment was due. I as the parent fully understand and acknowledge this provision.
Coaches Code of Conduct:
The Coaching Staff and those who take responsibility for an Axemen / Players Edge team(s) are held to the same standards as mentioned above. What makes the NJ Axemen / Players Edge different from most competitive youth baseball teams is our commitment to values. We believe the right combination of conditioning, coaching, and competition builds character traits that will last a lifetime. We believe that team accomplishments are greater than individual accomplishments; and supporting your teammates through good times and bad helps to develop a positive outlook on life.
The NJ Axemen & Players Edge coaches are also expected to conform to ethical standards in a number of areas. Coaches must treat each player equitably and sensitively within the context of their ability, regardless of ethnic origin, cultural background, sexual orientation, or religion. Axemen / Players Edge Coaches will be concerned primarily with the well-being, safety, protection, and future of each individual performer. The relationship between player and coach relies heavily on mutual trust and respect. This means that a player has the right to know the coach’s qualifications and experience. The NJ Axemen / Players Edge coaches will encourage players to never violate the rules of the sport. Coaches must accept responsibility for the conduct of their players and discourage inappropriate behavior in training, competition, and away from the field of play.
The NJ Axemen Organization / Players Edge feels very strongly about the conduct and behavior of our coaches. We will always represent ourselves to the standards that make our organization a model for sportsmanship and how coaches should act on and off the field. We embrace the idea that coach example of conduct, behavior, and healthy choices is considered important in the role of modeling our youth. For this reason, we require you to read this and adhere to these standards and the Board may take actions accordingly at anytime to ensure all coaches and managers abide by these rules and guiding principles.
The Board of NJ Axemen / Players Edge in its sole and absolute discretion have the right to to end its relationship with any such coach, manager and/or team if it feels it does not embody the type of conduct to represent the organization. The action by the Board of the NJ Axemen / Players Edge is not responsible for the return of any funds for uniforms, equipment, entry fees, insurance, training or anything of the like to any player, coach, or manager. In the event of a coach or a manager being released by the organization, such coach and/or manager shall refrain immediately from using the NJ Axemen / Players Edge name, logo, uniform or other NJ Axemen / Players Edge related material or anything of the like. Any amounts from sponsorship fees, fundraisers or from players accounts shall remain with the team and will not be returned or refunded back to the sponsor or to the player.
